“You can hear the music...but you FEEL the bass". This painting was inspired by a photo of a musician practicing before a performance. Deep into his craft, time and space seem to melt away and he is left with the things that matter most...his music and his instrument.

We consume women (their beauty, sexuality, etc) the same way we consume produce. The shiny, polished fruits and vegetables sit poised on display as we test, sample, and analyze their value. Unlike the fruit around her, this woman has the power to control how she is "consumed" ...or whether or not she wants to be at all. Is she the owner of The Market? A patron of The Market? Or simply another piece of produce to be consumed? Concept originated from a very deep very long convo I recently had with my wife regarding women and the societal battle to control them. But we are seeing more women take control over their narratives and owning their power...whether as patron, product, or otherwise.

Poised- (adj.)marked by balance or equilibrium ready for action. This painting was inspired by a viral photo capturing a woman strutting across a wet NYC street. From her head to her toes she was remarkable. Her stride, her confidence, her power...casually on display outshining the glossy vibrant billboards around her. Nobody knows where shes going, but her stride implies a divine purpose and focus on her mission...and the saying goes "if you see a woman on a mission...you best move out her lane..."

Society teaches men to measure ourselves by the destruction we cause. How many hearts we destroy, how many barriers we destroy, even how many other men we destroy. Too often, we view being alone as a synonym for being “lonely”. In fact, some of the greatest wisdom and joy come from those moments of isolation when we are forced to face ourselves alone…and explore who and what we find there.

This piece encourages us to harness the power of dreaming big while also remaining sensitive and connected to the smaller more fragile entities of the world around us. It's about envisioning a collective consciousness where we build massive creations out of our imagination without minimizing the beauty the world already offers. Through the eyes of a carefree child, we learn we can both admire the complexity of a hot air balloon and acknowledge the butterfly's significance... for it is the butterfly who inspired us to fly.

Melanin, colors, and feathers floating together like one massive street ballet. And she is the prima ballerina…overshadowing everything else.

True love is circular…It is balanced. It has no bounds. It has no breaks. It is infinite and endless….and yet it is delicate and sacred. Love. A story that will forever remain timeless.
